Kasco woodworking band saw blades are preferred by many businesses because of their state of the art manufacturing processes, resulting in more durable and precise blades. Kasco utilizes a tooth hardening process to ensure their blades are stronger and sharper. On top of this, their ability to adhere to tight tolerances allows these blades to be used in virtually any woodoworking applications.

Kasco’s line of WoodMaxx premium band saw blades come in a variety of types to satisfy different needs. You should pay attention to hook angles and tooth spacing when choosing a blade. Here is a breakdown of the different specifications of Kasco blades:

Hook Angles

  • Maxx10 – This blade has a hook angle of 10°. It is incredibly versatile and can be used for many different purposes, though it is ideal for use with mixed hardwoods.

  • Maxx7 – With a 7° hook angle, this blade is more suited for mixed hardwoods as well as seasoned woods that are more difficult to work with.

  • Maxx4 – With an even smaller angle of 4°, this blade is perfect for use with the most extreme hardwoods as well as with exotic and frozen woods.

  • SuperMaxx7 – This blade has a 7° hook angle. Its main distinguishing factor from the other blades is that it was designed specifically for high horsepower production sawing.

When it comes to tooth spacing, only the Maxx10 has varieties for all four categories of tooth spacing. These categories are 2 TPI (teeth-per-inch), 1.3 TPI, 1.1 TPI and 1 TPI. The Maxx7 and Maxx 4 only come in 1.1 TPI varieties. With that said, all of these blades do come in different widths and thicknesses.
